A unit of the low-threshold mental health service Mieppi will open at the end of August in Haaga, at the premises of western adult social work at Hopeatie 6. Appointment booking will open on 27 August.
Mieppi offers confidential free-of-charge discussion support without referral to adults and young people over the age of 13. The support is provided by mental health professionals. The discussion can take place at the premises or remotely, depending on the client’s wishes.
The first Mieppi opened in Myllypuro in late 2019 and the second in Kalasatama in the autumn of 2020.
‘The people of Helsinki have quickly embraced Mieppi’s services and Mieppi has established itself as part of the basic services of the Social Services and Health Care Division. The key strength of Mieppi is flexibility. The accessibility of the service is excellent thanks to the different methods of contact and will be even better with offices in different parts of the city,’ says first line services manager of psychiatry Sami Keränen.
‘Even during COVID-19, Mieppi has been able to provide uninterrupted services, and discussion appointments have also been available remotely,’ Keränen continues.
Appointments with Mieppi can be booked using the Maisa app or online at maisa.fi. Clients can also contact Mieppi by filling in the contact form at hel.fi/mieppi, and Mieppi will call them back within 1–3 days.
To book an appointment by phone, call 09 3103 7727 (Mon–Thu 12–14).
The Mieppi in Haaga also offers walk-in appointments without advance booking on Wednesdays at 9–14 (Hopeatie 6, 1st floor, be prepared to wait your turn).
Mieppi’s Haaga office is open 8–16 on weekdays.
